Jasminum angulare

From Southern Africa this tender evergreen climber can be grown outside only in the milder west of the country  its leathery and slightly hairy leaves will not take frost and it needs wall protection even in milder gardens, a wonderful conservatory climber. Closely related to Jasminum azoricum, Jasminum angulare's flowers are less gappy with shorter rounder petals and long tubes, strongly scented. It flowers in large panicles in late summer.

This particular form was one selected by Guy Sissons of the Plantsmans nursery and it is a good deal better than other forms I have seen being much freer flowering.
